The BET Honors 2010 is the third annual ceremony aired by BET Networks, and honoredQueen Latifah, Sean P. Diddy Combs and Whitney Houston. The tribute to Whitney Houston by Burrell was introduced by Neo, who stated Whitney Houston's admiration of Burrell’s voice, which she considers 'the greatest on the planet'. 4Burrell is represented by Lewis Agency, and was accompanied by her brand ambassador, Krishnar Lewis, and a range of stylists, celebrity hair & makeup artists. Her team was completed with a Public Relations team, who tried to promote Burrell's upcoming activities, producing a new reality series, and a new Gospel themed album.
Krishnar Lewis stated:
"If I were to say Kim Burrell is the greatest living singer in the known world, who would argue with me? What you are seeing now isn’t a new Kim, it is the real Kim. A gift this great cannot be contained or defined to one genre of music or group of people. Her brand is for the world and I am here to exploit that message it in every way possible. After a quiet period, Burrell returned to recording in 2009, when she released her fourth album: No Ways Tired. Burrell has gained much respect by her fellow singers, and is often referred to as either an influencing force, or as a new relevation.
