- On January 15, 2010 the 15th annual Critic's Awards show were held by the Broadcast Film Critics Association. The Award show was broadcast live by VH1 Television Network. Independent movie The Hurt Locker won the two major categories, Best Movie and best Director, while Avatar won six awards, including Best Action Movie and Best Art Direction 9 Both [[Meryl Streep andSandra Bullock were awarded the Best Actress Award. Other winners were Up, District 9, and Inglourious Basterds. Even thoughUp In The Air won the Best Adapted Screenplay Award, its single award was considered a bit disappointing.10 Nominees and winners have been chosen by members of the BFCA, the Broadcast Film Critics Association, which is the largest Association of Film Critics in North America, and comprises of around 200 TV, radio and online film critics.11
